Well I took Labor Day weekend off to chase our Blacktail deer with a couple of friends. This was a rather special hunt as I was with a friend that I had not hunted with nor seen for 50 years. We were childhood buddies K-12 school and neighbors and hunted together then he moved away I got married and you can figure the rest.
The hunt part of this tale was great. I got him a nice buck as well as one for my other friend then I took aim at a large 3X3 (Mule deer/western count)@ 82 yards and laying down ,presenting a perfect target, pulled the trigger and the gun went click!! Pictures were taken and high fives were shared, the deer walked off! Oh I knew the chamber was empty.
We had a great couple of evenings and meals together and when my guests had filled their tags with nice bucks I felt anything else was anticlimactic, thus a great hunt!

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
Pooh I hope you find to right house .
