Congratulations! All young people (especially boys) need this kind of influence when growing up. I noticed he got the training about finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
One of my favorite pomes from years ago goes something like this:
". . . to ride, shoot straight and speak the truth; these are the ancient laws of youth.
Old days are past old times are done but the law runs true my little son."
Ain't being a grandpa great?

The young boy in the above photo is my middle grandson. He is 9yrs. old and just got his youth mentor permit. A mentor can only supervise one youth with the permit and only one hunting devise whether it be a firearm or a bow. Monday the 17th the kids had off school so I, my hunting buddy, and my grandson went for squirrels. He was using my 20ga. O/U he saw one took a shot when I told him it was close enough but missed the but stock is long for him. So to solve that problem my hunting buddy is letting my grandson use his youth model pump in 20ga. The youth and the mentor have to be within arms reach of each other. In other words he has to almost be in my lap when he shoots. I had to be a little stern a couple of times but other than that I was very proud of how he listened and acted. 
My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
Pooh I hope you find to right house .
