JB, though I have no experience with Redding because I live reasonably close to RCBS I would have no problem nor hesitation about getting and using Redding products. From what I have read they have always received good comments and are excellent. If you like the price go for it!

jb, I think Bob is right. My experience with Redding stuff has been good, and you certainly don't hear nasty stuff about them. Usual auction cautions apply, of course, like was the press dropped from three floors onto concrete or something ? Let us know how you make out.

Thanks guys. At this point I'm not sure if I will get to the auction after all. Dad was admitted to the hospital last night and we're still waiting to find out what is really going on. Next Thursday will be his 89th birthday.

Thank you Pooh. I did go to the auction but I did not buy any of the presses. I just couldn't convince myself I needed another press. I did buy some loading blocks and 3 boxes of .277 bullets.
We still don't have any real answers about dad yet but my wife said he had quite the appetite tonight. They brought him Spaghetti & meatballs and he cleaned it all right up. I'm starting to think he was so dehydrated it was really messing him up.

Glad to hear the good news about your Dad JB. Your restraint at the auction is enviable!

That is good that he ate that well. That is a good sign that he is on the amend. Still prayers for your dad and you. You showed such restraint at the auction at least that would make the mrs. happy.

Jbnut, glad that your Dad is doing better. I went through this with my dad for 3 years, and yes he got better a couple of times, but time keeps wearing us down. He finally passed at 94, which by that time was a welcome blessing to him since the quality part of life had past years before. Besides, Mom waited long enough for him on the other side. I believe families are forever, so passing to the other side is a welcome thing in my thinking.....we morn, but it's temporary. Christ's mission made sure of that, and that comforts me and makes the separation more like a temporary trip to another country than an ending. As for Redding, they are a quality company, but so is RCBS and others. I don't believe their stuff is that much superior. In fact they make mistakes just like the other brands. Case in point......when I was rebuilding my wildcat .22-243, I had two choices of dies for it. RCBS and Redding. I decided to pay the extra and try Redding. I'm sure those dies aren't representative of what Redding can and does build, but the inside of the sizer was not polished and sized brass looked scuffed & terrible. Rough as a cob. I emailed them and of course like the quality company you'd expect, they told me to send it to them, and they'd fix or replace. I can't tell you of the outcome as I've not sent it back and it'll be a year in December! No fault to Redding, I just sorta dropped that project for a "little" while. Had no idea I'd not get back to it for a whole year! Anyway, just posted this to tell you that Redding, RCBS, Dillon, and Hornady all make good products. And so does LEE for the most part. Hard to go wrong, and they all aim to please when they screw up.....if you let them!
