Boy doesn't that sound too good to be true but man that would be nice though. Think about it the checking your target without leaving the bench and seeing the target as if you are on top of it so you can see just how much adjustment you need on your scope or iron sights. Now I know you are going to say that's what a spotting scope is for and yes you would be right. I have found a system that uses a camera and its own Wi-Fi signal to use an iPad, iPhone, and Kindle also Android Device and a Window laptop. This system is call "Bullseye Camera Systems LLC. They have two options. One for up to 300yds. and one up to 1 mile. Both need a clear view line of sight. Here is the link that you can watch their videos of the system. www.bullseyecamera.com

On a recent trip to the range, where I took one of my daughter's friends from college, I forgot to pack the spotting scope. He went to his car and produced a digital SLR with a lens that looked to me to be about the size of a 5" naval casing. Solved the problem at 100yd, expensively, but solved...

Gary, for some reason your link won't follow through. Pooh, What is that old expression that covers your tale? Necessity is the mother and laziness is the father . ............. .At any rate good to hear you thought out of the box and, I presume, had a good shoot!

Bob, I can't claim any credit for the thought-that kind of gizmo is beyond me ! More something about youth and skill-I was prepared to walk to the target periodically !

Well gentlemen it looks like the above mentioned device is not alone. Yes I have found another brand that uses the same principle. Now I do not know at this time which one came out first but I thought I share this as well. It is from Caldwell and you can purchase from Battenfield Technologies, MidwayUSA, Cabela's, and Bass Pro. So as always I'll give ya a link so you can check it out. www.btibrands.com/product/ballistic-precision-lr-target-camera-system/

Hacker, one of the cool things about a spotting scope is you can knock it just a bit out of focus and read mirage. I wonder if that's possible with one of these critters. Someone's got to show up at the range with one so I can find out !

Pooh, I doubt that it will show mirage as it is too close to the target so you'll still need your scope.

Well gentlemen I have thought of an idea and wonder if such would/could work with either system. I am wondering if they could incorporate a chronograph into this that would relay that info along with each shot and of course calculate the ES and SD. Yes I know something like this would put the price of this kind of system out of reach of most shooters. So after the holidays I'll send each a email to see what their response would be. I am just curious to see what they would say.

Gary, most of the chronographs already down load to at least laptops so most of your system is already in place.

Bob, Yes that's true but then you would have to set up another piece of equipment. If they can combine the two then you will have one setup to work with. As I stated just curious.
