So, whatever the merits of this offering from Hodgdon, how soon do you expect some Nimrod will figure this is Black Powder and run it down a front loader ? I don't care how many disclaimers they put on it, there's going to be a problem ! "Golly, I thought it said BLK powder on it !"

Pooh, Thank you for sharing this. I am surprised that Hodgdon did not inform me of this powder when I inquired about using CFE223 in 6.8 SPC. They told me that the CFE223 was not suitable to use and I would need a faster burn rate powder for it. So I see that this powder is of a quicker burn rate and suitable for the 6.8 SPC. I will have to inform my son-in-law of this. I'm looking over some sites that are commenting on this powder and one stated that Hodgdon will have data on their site Dec. 2016 So far that has yet to come to pass. Oh and having some uninformed trying it out on a front loader. Well there is always those Darwin type out there.

Gary, on some level I agree with you, but I think that name is the next best thing to hanging a "sue me !" sign on the door of the Hodgdon factory. Remember, there are not only fools in the legion of users, but in sales as well. I'm thinking of picking up a container as an illustration in my Business Law class !

Pooh, This would be a very good example for your class. Since this powder for developed for the 300 Blackout and similar size cartridges like 221 Fireball. I think a label like CFE 300BLK or CFE 300 Blackout would have been better at least some of the Darwin type can read and understand. As with a very brief search some places have it as in Graf&Sons which does have it in stock and Midsouth that has it out of stock which would mean that they have yet to receive it yet.

Not real good! I do see this as better than it actually being Black powder and someone loading a big cartridge with it, at least this way won't the slower burn rate just push the projectile out unless of course they just load it up . I don't really know as I'm not a front loader yet!

I'm glad to see the offering and will look for it for my 300 Blackout. However, as to the naming and the concerns about someone thinking it's Black Powder; I go along with the rest of you thinking a mix-up will happen.

Today looking over Hodgdon's site I see that they now have this powder listed in their Load Center. Bob since you do shoot a 22 Hornet and will soon be a proud owner of a 22 K-Hornet they now have data for both that you can check out. Larry they now have data for the 300 AAC Blackout that you now can check out. Have to let the son-in-law know to see if he wants to try this powder in the 6.8 SPC Rem. as there is now data.

Thanks Gary. I'll watch for the powder and give it a try in the 300 Blackout.
