I'm trying to help a friend get set up to hand load for his .25 Remington model 8 but I can't seem to find reliable data. Any ideas. I think .25-35 data will work but need confirmation. I will be calling Hodgdon later today or tomorrow.

Bob, You would be correct in using 25-35 Win. data for the 25 Rem. As in using 30/30 win data for the 30 Rem. If by chance you do happen to have or can get such data you can use that. Here is one article from the web on this subject. www.chuckhawks.com/25_remington.htm

I appreciate the link Gary however I'm looking for a bit more confirmation as I don't know Chuck and I am not loading this for my self but helping someone else get started.

Bob, I don't know if you have found anything else on this or not. Looking in my copy of Hornady's 9th Edition of Handbook of Cartridge Reloading copyright 2012 Second Printing. Page 247 which is the beginning of the 25-35 Win. load data section. Here is a quote from that page. "The loads given here may also be used in the 25 Remington, a rimless version of the 25-35 Winchester.." If you can get hold of a copy this should be of some help for your friend.

Once again, thanks a lot,Gary. In my research I found the dimensions I need to confirm my suspicions,as well as corroboration from several sources. Now I'll have to look in my Hornady manual which,in fact, may be what gave me the thought some time ago. This project has been simmering for some time now and just recently got rolling again.

Bob, In Hornady's data they only give data for their 60 gr. FP and their 117 gr. Interlock RN. I would think if you have other data for the 25-35 that would suffice also.

Hi Bob & Gary ~ I just caught up with this thread. In my new Hornady Handbook of Cartridge Reloading - Tenth Edition (a Christmas Present), I find the same reference to the loading of .25 Remington in the section for 25-35. It specifically references the Remington Model 8 rifle. From what Gary said the Ninth edition shows loads for the 60 gr. FP and the 117 gr. RN. The Tenth Edition also shows loads for the 110 gr FTX. Hope this adds to the information you are gathering. ~ Larry

Just an update to Larry's comment. If you take a look on Hornady's site they have new for 2017 the 25-35 Win. in the LeveRevolution ammo and this is in the 110gr. load. I have yet to acquire the 10th edition.

Bob, The Hodgdon site has more load data for 25-35 that should help in the load developement of that 25 Rem.
