Larry, I have read this and other articles about this. I think Sig makes a fine firearm. Reading over the comment section there had to be a Glock fan to taught why the Glock would be better. Hey everyone has their favorite. I think this firearm will do well for our service people. I wonder if for contracts if they take into consideration any bad reports from anywhere on other firearms also including the Sig? Here in my state PA our State Police are now using Sig P227 in 45 ACP. Before this was Glock in 45 ACP and before that Glock in 45 GAP. Why the switch well the Gen 4's that they had started to have problems Glock knew of these and would not stand by their product so now they carry Sigs.

Too ad Colt Smith or Ruger didn't get the contract! I hope it's .45 ACP, I haven't read the article (as if you can't tell).

Bob ~ I had the same thoughts on manufactures and caliber; even though I own and like some Sig's. ~ Larry

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

It appears that manufacture will be happening in New Hamster, assuming they retain the contract (some rumblings in Congress about the process). Sig has a big presence on the coast, along with the Academy around Rochester. Their new plant in Arkansas is apparently for their new ammo operation. They apparently like New Hamster, but the energy costs are high, and Arkansas came through with some major tax breaks.
