I was standing in my local gun store, minding my own business, when the guy said; "You're a 1911 guy, check this out." I always make it a point to try and not handle guns in these situations because I have a tendency to buy them (I believe the store owner knows this weakness because I have been doing business with him for some time now). Well, he handed me a Sig-Sauer 1911 Target. I have other Sig-Sauer guns and I most certainly have other 1911's. But it dawned on me that I do not have a Sig-Sauer 1911. The short story here is I corrected the condition and bought the gun. It is a full sized 1911 and aside from the adjustable rear target sight looks a lot like the original that Mr. Browning would have had. I brought her home and introduced her to the other 1911's and sure enough she fit right in. Now, as soon as I have a chance to get to the range, we'll see how this one performs.
PS ~ Hey Pooh, where is Exeter, New Hamster from you? This came with a "SIG - Live Free or Die - Made in NH" sticker, so I have to find some space on my safe to put it.

Larry, Great score on the Sig 1911. I do like the 1911 ever since I was introduced to GI 1911 and 1911 A1. Once I shot them I was hooked on them. I had a Colt Combat Commander that I let go and now have a RIA 1911. Have to let us know how she does at the range.

Dang you.......I wasn't even thinking about needing a new pistol......farthest thing from my mind. Also couldn't help but notice that Sig's 320 is the new military contract arm.............double dang.

Larry, I understand the affliction as I also have the disease I was not a 1911 fan ,mostly rifles and S & W revolvers then I got one. I qualified with one in the Army but opted for the S&W .357 when I was supposed to go to Nam(as a civilian) and 'till a year or so ago never looked at the '11. Now looking for another, although it will also be a Colt.

Bob ~ I understand the comment "it will be a Colt." My first couple of 1911's were Colt. There are some things that have to be the "right" brand. I drive Fords, my computers are Mac's, my cameras are Nikon's and my lemonade has pulp . . . . It took a long time but I did branch out and I do have some 1911's that are not Colt. ~ Larry

I never thought I "needed" a 1911 either, till a couple of CHRISTmas' ago, I bid on my LGS weekly auction on a Ruger SR1911 Govt.,and I am hooked! In fact My SR1911 Light (CMD) is my daily carry. I also have a Sig Sauer "ultra carry/compact" with a 3.25" barrel. I was going to carry it because of its lighter weight, but kept having feed jams. Turns out my LGS said the Sig likes Sig mags, but will also feed well with Wilson Combat 47D mags. I will probably carry that as the warmer months come, at least until its T-shirt weather then its back to the LC9S in a pocket holster. Since we are on the topic, I drive a Ram 5500 Wrecker, Mow with a John Deere, My camera is my Phone(Samsung,), and I like a little cream and sugar in my Lemonade(coffee)!

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

I feel sort of like the mutt owner at the Westminster Dog Show! My 1911A1 is an Essex frame and a Colt slide and misc. GI parts and a pretty set of walnut grips with the double diamond pattern. I bought it as a kit from Numrich about 30 years ago, and it was a winter project. The frame carries an awful cold blue that I've been meaning to do something about since the first Bush administration. Adequate accuracy, extreme reliability.
Otherwise, I drive a Subaru (anywhere and any time I please !), mow with a Sears & Roebuck, my camera is a Fujica, and, avoiding unfortunate comparisons, I take my coffee black and hot !

Pooh, you're showing a bit of age! I haven't heard the full Sears & Roebuck for years,I also use a Sears and Roebuck (Craftsman) mower!. Driving that Subaru, here on the leftist coast anyway, you'd be automatically labeled a tree hugging liberal, I know they are good vehicles and with 4 wheel drive which you probably put to good use.
