I was walking through an Estate Sale; it was billed as one of those great opportunities to find antiques. I really didn't want to go and had many things I'd rather be doing. Then, on a table off to the side I saw 6 unopened boxes of bullets. There was nothing else in the place related to guns or shooting. The room was labeled as a "$6.00 minimum bid" with lots of little trinkets and table-top dust collectors. I asked one of the workers if the boxes were a separate lot of if the went with the table they were sitting on. He returned shortly and informed me they were separate and placed a lot number tag on them. I noted the number and later when the lot came up I opened with the minimum bid of $6.00. No other bids were placed and I was called as the buyer. I payed my money and took my prize home. It wasn't a lost day after all. From the packaging, I'd guess they were from the mid to late 60's. The cellophane outer wrap on the Sierra's kind of crumbled and the tape holding the boxes closed just fell away once the cellophane was removed. The bullets inside looked like they were packed yesterday but slightly darker in color than "new" bullets. The Speer box was faded and the label slightly yellowed and dried (I haven't opened it yet). The furniture and other items were not to our liking so we didn't buy anything else but I was glad I went along.

Larry, Nothing like stepping in a big pile and coming up with a bouquet. Yes the bullets will be fine as I have purchased older unopened boxes at gun show that look like they were done the day before. If you put todays prices on those you made on heck of a killing on these. It is finds just like this that happen to show up at gun shows and for the most part they want to get rid of them and they will work with ya on a price.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.
