Other than Larry, Gary, and me who is interested in photography? What do you take and what do you use?

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Bob, I've toted a Fujica 35mm slr with a 43-75 zoom for a lot of miles. General shots-what ever was around when the mood struck. I am cheered that Kodak may be thinking of reviving some of the sub-species of Ektachrome, to which I was partial. I say was, since for several years I've been guilty of using digital thingies. This group might appreciate some work on New Hamster wildflowers, done by a friend/colleague who recently died. He was in a different league. newhampshirewildflowers.com/So there.

Bob, Bringing back that reversal film or should say slide film. I never had the chance to get into that kind of film to much. Only used it when doing training sessions to be shown later for critique purposes. I am partial to Black&White and used Ilford's film often. There was one Black&White slide film "Agfa Scala" 200 speed. There was only one place that I can remember that would develope this. This film is no longer in production. When it stopped I don't know. Iwould like to had the chance to work with that film. I still have my "Rico 35mm" camera and some color film left. I just might get it out when the weather gets nicer for a walk.

Larry, 95+% of my photos are of the forensic type so I have to be real careful of what I can show. I would love to be out and about more to do nature. I have the time but getting there is more of my problem.

Do any of you guys have any of your work out on the internet where we can see some of it? Ha Ha. Sure! Just check out my RCBS Pro 2000 how to's! on our A2munitions site......kidding. Here's 3 I took of my summer playground in Colorado. Just an amateur record of before the pine beetles half destroyed it. Old Canon A1 made these.......for my how-to reloading close-ups I use a simple electronic Canon point and shoot with macro and zoom that I bought for $150. I useta take ref. pictures of military aircraft....a younger interest.

Hey GWS ~ That train at Cumbres Pass is one of my favorite places. I've taken a lot of pictures up there. If you look in my "Black & White" Album at www.withoutfilm.com you'll find the old Rail Yard at Chama, NM. All of the photos at my website are taken with Nikon DSLR's (D-2X, D-3, or D800e). My newest camera is a Nikon Mirrorless (Nikon 1) and I have just started with it. Of course I don't have the lens selection for it that I have with my DSLR's. Hacker ~ I was thinking of "fun" photography not "work" but I totally understand your comment. All ~ My website has not been updated for some time. I have many more photos and have not managed to find time to put samples out there. I have a large format printed and the finished prints are much more dramatic than the samples on the website. If any of you have some time, check it out. ~ Snapshot (Larry)

If I can ever figger it out I'll try to post a few. Presently I'm having a lot of trouble with Lightroom 6 and Windows 10 and a new computer, all because of my D500 and its 43 mb files. It is a great machine though, took a couple of pictures at ISO 2500 which are clear as a bell they advertise an ISO of 1.6 million! I have this beautiful camera and great long lens and winter/ spring is passing me by due to weather and work so I am missing my waterfowl shots with the good light.

My wife inherited land about a quarter mile up the mountain from the train station at Cumbres. The first picture was taken about face from the train picture looking south from that end of the little train station.....the third, was 5 miles north over Cumbres and LaManga looking north into Horca. Love it up there....but I will die before it ever looks this good again.....damn beetles. Expecting a forest fire eventually due to the thousands of acres of dead spruce and fir fuel. Probably will lose my cabin.....did I say "damn beetles?" Ah, yes, I did.

Greg, I very much enjoy your "color" added to our discussion also your rifle. I had to check to make sure you didn't somehow get mine as it is absolutely identical.

Bob! Then you are a lucky man! The picture is all I have now......gave it to my youngest son. It resides north of Denver now. Ain't it a shame that they replaced the beautiful wood upper with plastic. One of the prettiest rifles there ever was. One little bit of trivia: My wife's family are ranchers (not the rich kind). They got their Cumbres land out of a land trade with the forest service. Her great-grandfather once homesteaded and owned the very land where the train station/camp ground is. Forest Service decided they wanted it, so they traded for some timber filled land up the mountain.....and the family made a little money selling timber. Most of the land has since been subdivided into 3 acre plots and sold....but when I married my wife, the family had it all to themselves.....quiet.....peaceful....beautiful......aw well....nothing stays the same. (snow mobiles, 4-wheelers, chainsaws, too many people...you know, you're from California ) Larry! You're the professional with photography.....beautiful. Enjoyed wandering around your site!
