Being only marginally computer literate I need help. What is the easiest method to post photos? To over use an acronym, TIA.

METHOD 1: The easiest way is to use the "Edit Attachments" button on the left. 1: Click that button then 2: Click the "add files" button. (takes you to a file upload screen) 3: Find a picture on your computer (example IMG_0304.JPG below) and high light it. 4: Click the "open" button on that upload screen and it will add the picture to "attachments" on this website as below. Don't worry where it puts it, because you can move it just by highlighting it and dragging it......you can also increase its size by grabbing a corner of a highlighted picture and dragging the corner. BUT there is a limitation on file size of attachments. This is great for adding a thumbnail though!!!

The biggest limitation is file size with attachments.....you only get 1MB. This is a good way to add "thumbnail" pictures.... In my last post click the picture...... [WAIT!!] First know that you use the back arrow at the top of your browser to come back to this screen] Ok now click the picture in the last post. That's a picture of a Cottonwood tree in full "bloom" (red tiny flowers) A week from now it will be leafed out. Then I will take another picture and share. This tree looks like it ought to be next to a haunted house.....it is.....or at least it looks like one! METHOD 2: The other much more versatile method is to use a free picture hosting service like Photobucket to host your pictures and videos. The link below goes to my Photobucket account and shows every picture I have uploaded there. Uploaded pictures or vids can then be downloaded to this forum by using the picture button or the video buttons at the top of this forum's edit screen. Don't worry I don't have anything there I don't want to share. My photobucket accountWhen you get there click on a picture Notice the labeled boxes on the right of the now much bigger picture. Click on the box that's labeled "Direct"......you have just put that picture's url into your computer's clipboard. (you could also point to it and click contol C.) Now you can use control V to put it in your next post here...........go ahead and try one. So Set up your own free account at Photobucket.....then play with it.....upload pictures and vids, then you have them "hosted" and you can use them all you want almost anywhere. You will see how easy it is.

Thanks Greg, I'm in Sacramento so I will wait 'till I'm home where my pictures are. I may have to resize some as the files are about 43 Mbs.

Bob ~ It sounds like you're shooting RAW to get file sizes like that. That is all I shoot and it has save me a few times; being able to post correct some images that would have been lost in JPG. ~ Larry
