I have finally given up on California!
Cost is certainly a factor in my choice to leave California; not just the cost of living but the reduced value of my money due to taxes beyond reason. A socialist government that used transportation taxes as part of the general fund and then funding a train no one wants and the contract to build it is given to a crooked Senator’s Husband is classic example of my concerns. Now the nincompoop is adding new taxes supposedly intended to repair roads and bridges because he has used the transpiration money that was originally intended to support the infrastructure. I would not be surprised if he redirects these funds in the future to some Socialist Program. The liberals will find a way to give the tax dollars of hard working people to illegals and fund free phones, free food, free housing and everything else then tell us they need to raise taxes again. If the transportation taxes had not been stolen for use in the General Fund no new transportation taxes would be necessary and we would have great roads and bridges. The whole idea of sanctuary for law breakers at the expense of honest hard working people has put this state completely upside down in it’s values. The political environment has just become more than I can stand. Our kids are teachers and the “trash” they are being forced to deliver to the children they teach as well as the things they can not say are just heart breaking. Mandating that a teacher explain transgender people to eight-year-olds and explaining why some kids can choose which restroom they wish to use is just beyond reason. Judeo-Christian values can no longer be discussed nor taught in our schools yet reading assignment based on the Koran are perfectly okay. Morning-after pills are available in University vending machines luring young people to feel unprotected sex will be okay . . . what about STD’s, ever think of that? The teaching of being tolerant of others to a level that the we are being forced to accept actions that are simply un-American and even unnatural is too much to ignore. Our governor does not enforce the added time of sentencing due to use of a firearm in a crime and sets convected criminals free then turns around and signs more gun laws aimed at law-abiding citizens.
American Pride and patriotism in general is being stifled because it is seen as offensive to some. The gays and illegals are being given not only protection but preferential status while the rights and liberties of Christians are being diminished daily. The current State Government is bad but the next generation looks to be so much worse I have to get out. The political machine within California is so powerful and Gavin Nuwsom is most likely the next governor and he brings even more deterioration of family values. An analysis of last November’s election shows how strong California is and it’s influence on the rest of the country. Without California's liberals the last election would have been a run-away landslide for the conservatives. The goal of California being the first sanctuary state and the first gun-free state will most likely come to pass but I can not stay here to see it. I’ve spent most of my life living in California and remember when it was truly a great state . . by mid-summer we will move to our new home being built in Prescott Arizona.

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
