!st I offer my thoughts and support to the victims and families of the shooting, it hit very close to home. One victim lived a few blocks from me,I didn't know her though. 2nd, I hear the NRA has supported a ban on the bump stock. I support this as well, with reservation though, as I think this will take some of the steam out of the coming storm. What are your thought?

I'm of the same thought, Bob. I can't find a reason for sporting shooters to need bump stock firearms. When acknowledging that there are weapons that should be restricted we open the door to the liberals to jump on the wagon and try to justify unrealistic restrictions. It seems that the liberals push the boundaries so that giving an inch always leads to loosing a mile. It’s so difficult to discern exactly where lines must be drawn. There are needs for realistic limits. It’s too bad that we have to deal with the left’s constant attack on our freedoms and rights but I know they will see an admitted need for any restriction as a place to starting driving their wedge for unrealistic restrictions. Here we are, saying a restriction may be appropriate but we’ll never see them saying their push for total bans are inappropriate.

I also pray for the victims and their families. The left is going after the bump stock. Again the left attacks an object and not the responsible individual. The shooter could wreck just as much havoc without one of those devices. I know quite a few that can dump a 30 round mag very quickly and swap out mags in seconds. There is two pro gun bills that were gaining momentum until this happened. Oh and they are going after the devices that you can attach to the trigger that will do the same thing. Another thing the left is doing and they are relying on the uneducated people that these devices turn these rifles into an automatic weapon. These devices do not. You are still pulling the trigger for each shot. This is why they are legal under the BATFE. Do I have a need for such, no. Remember the all the left needs to do is chip away at our rights til they are gone. If you haven't taken notice they are chipping at the First Amendment as well. I see a pattern starting. They need these to help push their new world order one world government.

Gary I am ,as a resident of California, all to aware of the left's desires and their tactic to gain these controls. I think if this and only this accessory is banned with the support of the gun community it will put them in a tisy as they won't have any where to go with this. I stated with reservation and I'll add suspicion.
I have emailed all of my congressional representatives that I am ashamed of them for once again jumping on the bandwagon before the grief stricken have even had a chance to bury their loved ones.

You guys pretty much preempted the field. I'd add a couple of things. Initially, Trump played it well. "This is not the time". Common decency aside, let some of the steam vent from the antis. I recognize Larry's concern about giving an inch, but if we get away from this one with that the only loss, ok. NRA coming out with a concession on that was good politics, but I am concerned that some of our less sophisticated bretheren will see it as a sell-out. Stand and fight is all well and good, but in any conflict, room has to be made for maneuver.
Tragedy aside, I actually was looking at one of those bumper stocks to put on my muzzleloader...

I have a good idea as to what you guys will think about what I'm going to say but I don't believe this was one shooter. Bump stock or not! Plus this guy has never had any training that anyone has found so far. This whole thing doesn't pass the smell test IMHO. I saw one video posted(I've been trying to find it again) but I could swear that I saw 2 muzzle flashes from separate rooms. Then there is the time line changes that the feds and the Police are in conflict with.
Oh I guess I should mention that I love playing with bump stocks. They can ban them if they wish but making your own is very simple. I have 7 of them.

Dan, I through the bump stock lure out a month and a half ago, thought it would bring you out sooner! I do agree with you on the probable cover up of the investigation as something doesn't add up, too many discrepancies for me to accept. A friend ,who should know, thought he saw the belt clips on the floor in one early released picture,it has since disappeared. As far as bump stocks go the only reason I'm against them is there are far too many gun owners and chest thumpers out there who haven't a clue about guns other than they go bang and break bottles or chase beer cans around! As I said I have strong, Make that very strong, reservations about adding support to any sort of ban the results of which would have to be iron clad, though with the politicians involved nothing is ironclad.
Glad to hear (see) your voice!

I should have posted here sooner. I don't have to worry to much at the school I teach at seeing posts here. Trust me I've been suspicious of the whole story from the beginning.
