Well It has been awhile since I made it to a show. Well back on the 24th of Sept. I went to my favorite little gun show held at a volunteer fire dept. and was surprised by what vendorship was there or should say lack of. I had no problem with parking and inside it was not crowded. I entered the upper level first. Was able to get around and view all the items. I then went down to the lower level and it is here I saw the big difference from past shows. At the bottom of the stairs there is a room that always had items in it but not this time. Then I proceeded into the main area and what I saw had me going WOW. Only have the space was used for tables. I was shocked to see this. Now this is a small show but was a very nice show to go to. I made my way backup to the upper level and was talking with a couple of vendors and they told me that they might not be back. The fire company put on breakfast and lunch items that you buy and proceeds go to the dept. Well one vendor stated the breakfast group was low not like in years past when ya had to wait in line.
So for you guys that get to certain shows how have they been of late? Are they staying the same, getting bigger, or down sizing? There is a show this month Oct. and the next one in my state's capital. I hope to get to these to see if they are changing any.

Gary ~ As you know I recently relocated to the Free State of Arizona. In the short time we've been here the wife and I have attended two local gun shows. The locals tell us vendor turn out is less than a few years ago and the general attendance is down as well. Having no past experience to draw from I must take this a face value. From a new attendees perspective we thought they were great shows and enjoyed them. There are more gun related vendors and less coin, jewelry and toy vendors than Southern California shows. The fact that you can buy and sell guns privately in Arizona is still a freedom we are getting used to. The latest on-line American Rifleman has an article on “The Truth About Gun Shows” thats heads interesting light on the subject. If I do this right, the link below should take you there. www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2016/1/5/the-truth-about-gun-shows/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=insider&utm_campaign=1017~ Larry

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Hi Larry-you seem to be dealing with the trauma of leaving California ! I'm not sure there's any particular surprise on an easing of attendance by buyers and sellers. The market is at a more "normal" level, there doesn't seem to be any particular crisis shortage, and prices are relaxing a bit. (Caution: the lead market is up to ~1.17/lb last I looked.) Even the local Walmart had .22s at ~ .04/round in bulk packs, and they didn't evaporate from the shelves the way they have been. My guess is the market in general has saturated, and everyone's taking a breather. Just my hunch. (Call me Quasimodo...)
