Well here in PA. this past Sat. 10-14-17 was the opener of the small game season. The opener starts with squirrel, rabbit, and ruffed grouse. Pheasant starts the following Sat. 10-21-17. New this year one needs a permit to hunt pheasant at $26.90 I don't hunt these that much to put out the extra. The son-in-law and I were in the wood most of the day and we are doing again the 22 mag challenge. I saw one bushy tail and bagged it in the morning. The son-in-law did not see any so we'll try next time out. We hunted an area that I'm familiar with but haven't hunted in quite sometime. I was also scouting the deer sign to see of setting up for this year. We did see a few deer while out.

Nice going, I didn't kill a deer this year did see some dandy bucks though. I will start upland bird chasing soon as my hamstring feels a little better. Getting old aint for the faint of heart!

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Hacker, happy to hear you're out and about. Sounds like a good start ! Bob, I feel (something like) your pain. My knee has been killing me for the last three weeks, and seems to be settling down. Muzzleloader season starts the 28th, so I hope to be around then, if only to take the rifle for a walk ! I guess I don't mind a little pain-it makes things seem so much better when it stops !
