Well today 10-28-17 started the fall turkey season here in PA. Here in the fall season you can bag a tom or a hen. The son-in-law and I headed for the woods. We sat on opposite sides of a section of pine and hardwoods. Legal for fall season is shotgun, bow that also includes crossbow, and rifle. We also were hunting bushytails. I did not see a squirrel all day. Now the son-in-law missed a couple. He also had a nice doe walk right by him. Well I made my way to his spot to eat lunch together and talk of what we saw or didn't see. I just finished my sandwich when a turkey shows it self. He tried his luck but no luck. Then a few minutes later one presents itself to me. I didn't have any more luck either. Yep we both did not connect with our 22 mags. Well that was our day afield. Even with the miss it was a great day out in the woods.

You're not 'posed to miss but when you do it's mums the word. Saw 'em but couldn't shoot or some such tale! Glad you had a good day together!! Our either sex turkey season doesn't start for a couple of weeks yet.

Hacker, your next lunch sandwich might have to be PB&J rather than turkey on rye but a day in the field is as special as days get. Sounds like you enjoyed some quality time. Bob’s method might make for a better story but the memories just get better with time.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

As long as it's a good, clean miss, it's not the end of the world ! (At least, that's what I tell myself... ) I was out briefly on Saturday for the opening of muzzleloader season. Kept it a little short due to knee pain-mobility a little restricted right now-didn't want to fall and need help getting out. We had rain and wind on Sunday, and this morning we had substantial water in the basement. How much ? People from Houston were sending us food and stuff ! No harm, and a new sump pump has things under control without a lot of damage. Between a third and a half of the state was without power. Yike ! In any event, keep at 'em, guys-and don't forget to have fun !
