Got an email from CMP today. Apparently, 8000 surplus 1911s have arrived. After inventory, they probably won't be touched for a couple of months, as there are some sort of mandated modifications that have to be made to the building in which they'll be processed. Then, they will be processed (checked, cleaned, and the good ones set aside for auction). If you're interested in the details, check out odcmp.org .
Not like the old days of DCM. These will be priced at market level, and sales will be driven by collectors. So much for owning Alvin York's ! In any event, there has actually been progress, and some real pistols are in CMP's hands. |

Thanks for the information Pooh, I imagine the price will be in the $800 to $1,000 range at least I hope so.

Price is a little steep for me as well especially since I have a 1911 albeit a civilian model.

I was about to let you guys know the same information . . . a little slow on the trigger, sorry.
I plan to follow up and see where it goes . . .
I have more 1911's in the safe than I can shoot but I do not believe that a guy can have too many.

My daughter came from Missouri, my son and grand son, my wife and I had a nice dinner of grilled "porter house" pork chops, corn on the cobb, my son, G'son and I share 10/5. G'son is 4 minutes early though @ 10/4.
Pooh I hope you find to right house .
