Well guys been awhile since I posted on powders. Let's start with the updates or should I say "improved" powder. Well looks like Alliant has done just that with Red Dot and Green Dot powders. These are to be cleaner burning and to meter better. Pooh just maybe they will take a look at Unique. Hmm time will tell. New is WinClean 244 from Winchester. This is another powder that is to help keep copper fouling down. No this is not CFE Pistol with the Win. label. This powder is close in burn speed to HP38/Win231 only being two spots slower on the burn chart. This has my eye as it should perform good in short barreled handguns. Since I use the aforementioned powders for cast loads this just might be the all around powder for me to use.

Now I have all this powder to use up so I can try some of these new offerings.

There's been some tinkering with Unique over the years. The current iteration is a lot cleaner burning. I'd hate to have them "improve" it-you know how I am. If in doubt, stuff a little Unique in it. (David Bowie has been quoted as saying "If it works, it's out of date.")

Actually, I wonder if Power Pistol is going to replace Unique in the line. Unique is seen less and less in the currently published load data.
