The following is from a blanket e-mail I received today from Springfield Armory. I was not aware of the tie between Dick's Sporting Goods and Field & Stream; but I am done with both of them. Remember when you cancel your subscription you are entitled to a refund of the remaining time of your subscription. Where we spend our money is as important as how we vote these days. GENESEO, IL, (05/03/18) – Springfield Armory is severing ties with Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, in response to their hiring a group for anti-Second Amendment lobbying.
This latest action follows Dick’s Sporting Goods’ decision to remove and destroy all modern sporting rifles (MSR) from their inventory. In addition, they have denied Second Amendment rights to Americans under the age of 21. We at Springfield Armory believe that all law abiding American citizens of adult age are guaranteed this sacred right under our Constitution.
It is clear where Dick’s Sporting Goods and its subsidiary, Field & Stream, stand on the Second Amendment, and we want to be clear about our message in response. Their position runs counter to what we stand for as a company. At Springfield Armory, we believe in the right and principles fought for and secured by American patriots and our founding forefathers, without question. We will not accept Dick’s Sporting Goods’ continued attempts to deny Second Amendment freedoms to our fellow Americans.

Larry, I'm not sure the reference is to the magazine or the sporting goods firm of the same name. I don't have time to check, but suggest caution.

We got a new Dicks last year in my small city.......I went to have a look see. I saw and left.....never been back.....not my kind of sporting goods. Judging from the commonly, mostly empty parking lot, they aren't doing too well in this Republican corner of New Mexico. I think gun ownership here is upwards of 70%. The 30% are move-ins from elsewhere. I shop at Sportsman's Warehouse and a couple of local shops. Directly in front of Dicks they built a Chick-Fil-A restaurant. Signs are prominently close together. The smile-a-day every time I see it? Chicks and Dicks...........but I like Chicks....they have balls. (if you count their politics)

I stand corrected . . . I was not aware of the Field & Stream Shop. My apologies to the Field & Stream Magazine. The rest of my comments stand as written.
(Gary, I do believe that I understand your local archery shop's reference to their name.)

I did just as Greg did. I went to a local Dicks to see, saw and left never to return. Choice was reinforced by their recent actions.

Agreed, gents. They won't miss me. Guns were too far away to see, pricing, other than an occasional sale item wasn't great. BTW, I did notice their fliers haven't had *any* shooting related stuff lately.
