Dan, great videos, what questions I had in the first one was answered in the second.
The only things you haven't covered yet is the different requirements necessary for the semi-autos, especially the military style ones so popular today. Where you are wanting to find your guns' favorite distance to the lands in your bolt guns, often a shooter is limited by magazine limitations on a gas semi-automatic. The exception being those who shoot competition one round at a time outside the magazine.
I still like to use the Hornady tool to check how far out the lands are, but unfortunately the mag is way shorter.
Which tool do you prefer to use to measure for shoulder bump back. I've been using RCBS's Precision Mic for that.

GWS, 80% of my rifle reloading is for competition bolt guns. All but 3 of those are 30BR which surprisingly enough I have never had to bump the shoulder back other than what little is done with the neck bushing die and I only use a body sizing die on every 4th reload. The 3 rifles that I have with internal mags have single shot adapters in them except the Swiss K31. Because of the single shot adapters mag length is of no concern. In the K31 I shoot surplus GP-11 ammo and I have allot of it. Of all the center fire cartridges I reload 7.5 X 55 is not one of them. For measuring shoulders I use the Harrell's shoulder collar and standard dial calipers. I have one for all but my .223 The .223 ammo that I reload is all once fired brass picked up at the range and reloaded for my AR. I rarely pick up any of my .223 brass as most is used in three gun shoots where there isn't time allowed for brass retrieval anyway.

Dan I love the Hornady OAL gauge use it all the time same with the bullet comparator for the ogive. Since I haven't really gotten into competition accuracy all that much I do not weight sort bullets. I will measure 10 bullets from EVERY box of bullets even if they are the same lot#. I set all my seating depths based off my ogive measurements for that box of bullets. Something I have found espically with Hor and Nos BT bullets is they vary less than not BT bullets in both bullet OAL and ogive length.

There really isn't a need to be as anal as I am about that unless you do shoot in competition.
