On Saturdays my wife usually makes the local yard sale circuit. We were off on vacation this week so she went on Friday. She comes home and tells me about one sale that had reloading equipment. So being the good husband that I am I let her take me back to it. On the way she's asking if I'll buy it if they are selling it all for one price and I tell her no because I don't need a lot more stuff I just want to see what there is.
When we get there I see that it is a RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme kit, a RCBS Tumbler, a couple of die sets, a Frankford Arsenal caliper and a RCBS powder trickler and it is marked "make a offer". I ask if they are willing to break it up and she says no we are selling it as one. I told her I was interested in the tumbler if they were breaking it up but started to move on and look at other things. Then she says if you want the tumbler you can have it for $20, SOLD. I got to thinking that she just sold a $70, ?, tumbler for $20 so I had to ask what would you have to have for the rest of it? I really didn't want to make a lowball offer and insult her then She says $250, SOLD again. As near as I can figure this all would be over $500 at the LGS and I brought it home for $270.
She said her husband wanted to start reloading when he bought all of this but he never did. It's never been used. He didn't even take the plastic off of the manual.
It looks like my RCBS Reloader Special 2 press might be the depriming press now. Silly wife, she should know better that to tell me things like this.
Oh, and one of the die sets was for 9mm. Now I have dies and range brass. One of these days I can almost see another gun following me home.

With all that money you saved you should at least take her to dinner.

Had to chuckle about the dies and brass leading to a new gun ! I suspect a lot of us have picked up stuff on the cheap from those who quit for one reason or another. You did well !

JB, You made out quit well. I'm just wondering if she would have let all go for the $250 price hence maybe saving you that $20. Makes me wonder.
