Those familiar with Frankford Arsenal and their products that aid the reloader has come out with a single stage press that is similar to the Forster Co Ax press but at a price that seems more reasonable at least to me. I'll give a link to Ultimate Reloader so you can look it over. MidwayUSA is expecting to have this in stock around 02-07-19. I haven't check other distributors to see if they will be carrying it. ultimatereloader.com/2019/01/12/new-frankford-arsenal-m-press-unboxing-and-complete-overview/

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Not sure how the pricing compares to the RCBS Summit. Same basic inline idea.

Pooh, The prices for the Summit that I was able to find come in as follows $229.99 at MidwayUSA 224.99 at Precision and 216.99 at Graf's. With the Summit you bring the die down to the case but both the shell holder and die are rigged. With the Forster Co-Ax and the Frankford M press the shell holder and die have some play so they both can self align. The MEC Marksmen press their shell holder has some play to help center the case with the die. So far as for price difference between the Forster and the Frankford the later is $80 to $90 less.

In what seems like a lifetime ago I reloaded on a Forster Co Ax press; but back then the manufacture was Bonanza. I liked that set-up, especially the fact that they had a universal shell holder and they caught every spent primer in a little jar. I traded that press off in a gun deal and for the life of me I can't remember what gun it was. It must have been a good deal for me to give a reloading press ?

I never saw a Bonanza other than in a picture. They aren't very heavy compared to some.... Rock Chucker and Summit weigh more, I believe. My turn off was reaching for the sky to pull the press through it's stroke......I may have felt different if I'd actually tried it. My view is closer to the floor than probably most of you....so that has something to do with it. I bought a Summit a while back, and it's fun for some things, but resizing hard machine gunned (over blown) LC military brass wasn't one of them. I do like the open face....so these days I'm more open to the Co Ax and F.A.'s new copy. I'd want to try one before I buy. One question......exactly what is wrong with shell holders.....?

Greg, Nothing wrong with shell holders. The Forster and the Frankford doesn't use them. The case is held by a clamp type jaw.

Greg ~
I agree that there is nothing wrong with shell holders it’s just a convenience issue if you don’t have to change them from cartridge to cartridge and of corse the cost savings in not having to purchase them.
You are right about reaching so high to operate the press. I remember that teaching my son, back then required him to stand on a stool.
Bonanza was bought by Forster some 40+ yers ago and thus the name change of that original Co Ax press. As I recall, it was not as heavy as the Big RCBS but I don’t recall it being what I would call a lightweight.
I only use my RCBS Summit when I’m sizing tough cartridges and I use the extended handle when necessary.

Guess my point is....you can buy a lot of shell holders for the price difference between a Rock Chucker and a Co Ax....you get a heavier duty press in the deal, and if you learn how to loosen the shell holder spring on the ram, so's it can allow brass to center in the dies, it'll load just as concentric.
You can use those same shell holders on a bench primer (if you don't spring for a universal) and on a Summit Press as well. If you feel you need a tad more sideways wiggle you can use Lee Dies with their "O" ring under the nut.....or just the "O"ring nuts on another brand's dies. I've never felt the need for those though.
I do like the Lee dies just fine and they stay put on a progressive's die plate, but I prefer Forster nuts on die sets for my single stage presses.
The new black CoAx copy does have a more reasonable price.....I've never heard a lot of praise for the CoAx priming system....which makes me curious about the Frankford Arsenal version. These are just head scratching thoughts that came to mind.
