If you have NOT purchased a long gun in the past 3 years or a handgun in 5 years you may not be in the system and a back ground check will cost $19.00 EACH time you buy ammo. Go to your local gun shop and ask for a DoJ AFS request for fire arms record,mark it for ammo only fil it out and send it in. This should reduce your check to $ 1.00 . Do this BEFORE buying any ammo!

I take this also involves reloading components as well. I'll be quite surprised if it doesn't.
