Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Just got back from the range-mission:check zeroes on caplock, and goofing around with a different patching material on the flintlock. The caplock is boring-drop a measure of Pyrodex down the barrel, follow with a Maxi Hunter, cap, and see which part of the ten ring you hit. I shoot the gun four times a year. Three sighters and either into Bambi or a dirt pile on closing day.
The flintlock is just too cool. One grade of black down the barrel, patched round ball (the new patching worked wonderfully !), prime with 4f, pull the trigger, and watch the show ! It's like a Rube Goldberg drawing unfolding in front of you-stuff moving, snapping, flashing, and after a while, the thing goes off ! I'm glad I was alone at the range, because I chuckled every time I touched off a shot. The fun *almost* makes up for cleaning !
Hope you're all having fun today !

It be nice if the deer would watch the snapping and crackling before it goes of. At least that way they're giving you a chance.

Sounds like a great day at the range. Ya’ know; sometimes when other folks see us chuckle to ourselves they might get the idea that we are . . . well . . . you know.

Out here you'd probably get arrested as an arsonist with all those sparks and smoke and carry'n on in our dry grass. Sounds like fun though. Also sound as though you'd have to pull the trigger before you even see the deer!

Sounds fun! I doubt I'll ever have a chance to experience it....sigh....
But good for you! I believe that's where the "Ka" comes from in "Ka pow"
