I saved these from Christmas just so I could be among the 1st, if not 1st, to post this year--2020 ! I got the newest issues of Cartridges of the World,The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions and Blue Book of Gun Values. It is difficult to give a book review for the cartridge books but the titles are very descriptive of their content. The "caliber"range is .10 to 20mm in Cartridges of the World and .14 to.70 in The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversion. Both offer tech. data and some conversation about loading. The Handloader ....... offers verv technical dimensional information and case capacity which will interest those who dabble with wildcats.

Good choices, Bob ! The manual of cartridge conversions is one I just pick up once in a while and browse. It's amazing what you can learn ! Have fun !

Glad to hear about your new reference material . . . now I know where to go for wisdom AND information If you're anything like me, you'll have parts of each read by this time next year. Enjoy them my friend and fell free to enlighten us on any major discoveries.

^^^^^^^^ Agree....Bob's the source man now! Yawn.....not Bob's books, just my body....it doesn't get enough sleep no matter how much I sleep.... Makes it hard to read too! I didn't get any books for Christmas, except a book from my daughter on how to reverse Alzheimer's........think she's trying to tell me something??? This Christmas was pretty quiet....only 3 of my 5 kids and their families are local now (only 15 extra mouths at dinner)....two families are long ways away...10 hours and 16 hours. I did spend some time repairing one of my daughters Kitchenaid Mixers.....$100 worth of parts and it's good as new, beats $400 for a new one. She wasn't the daughter who sent me the book... But that girl is right.....my memory is bad.....I'll read it, over and over til something sticks. Maybe there's a miracle we all can use....but I already know the cure for everything...Jack LaLane taught......it's diet...."if it tastes good spit it out", he said.....now tell me, what kind of life is that? No reloading this Christmas, just the Lee after-Christmas project yet to come. I spent some time in the loading room this morning....got exactly nothing accomplished.....you guys ever do that? Or is it Alz.?

Pooh you're quite right about learning,I have older versions of both and that coupled with the foray into wildcats I found out how much I didn't know even after loading for decades. As for being a "resource"(I don't know about that) but I will be glad to help, those books along with Quick Loads are a wealth of information.

This has been the year of books,at least for me. I was just given 2 books by a good friend (the 45-75 friend)P.O.Ackley's Handbook for Shooters and Reloaders and signed edition of The Winchester Book by George Madis both are books I have long wanted which my friend was unaware. I'm a happy camper!

Bob well done on two great scores. I'm sure you'll find the P.O. Ackley Hand Book to be quite the reference book.

Great timing Bob; while you are in self quarantine and socially distancing yourself you’ll have great reading material.

Larry, as far as self quarantine,I've got no self control so, oh well! As to social distancing, my personality has long since taken care of that . I've been reading Ackley's book which is very informative and wonder as others have, and stated, how far(fast) he would have gone with todays powders and newer cases. The Winchester book is a wonderful reference as you know and I have been wandering through it.

Ackley was a genius ! To think that his columns were everyday fare in various shooting journals of the time is boggling. Sounds like great late winter/coronapanic reading !
