Gentlemen if you remember I posted about Colt getting back into the revolver business. First they brought back the "Cobra" with new updates and then about a year later they brought back the "King Cobra" with it's updates. Both of these to date are selling. So since these have come out people have asked will Colt bring back the "Python" Well Colt has listened and have brought back the "Python" Oh and they're in stainless steel. From the link that I'll share the MSRP if I heard the video right is $1499 which is a bargain compared to what I see the older ones go for at the gun shows. Th most recent show I was at had an excellent "Python" for just about $4,000

My advise to anyone these days is "NEVER SELL A GUN". The list of guns I have owned in the past 60+ years and no longer have is too long. Every gun show I go to I find myself seeing a gun and saying; "I used to have one on those." Even if they were real dogs or just safe-queens . . . "I wish I still had them." I would hate to tell you what I sold my Colt Python for, way back when but; "I sure wish I still had it." Maybe Colt is giving me a second chance ? ? ?

Larry, you're not far off the mark. I had a Python (blue you could drown in...) and I sold it off about ten years ago. Honestly, it was really low mileage, because I was afraid I'd scratch it or something. I traded it off and bought a like new Security Six in stainless and applied the balance to someone's tuition. I shot the Ruger more in the first month than I had the Python in twenty-five years of owning it. But...you're right. I still miss it ! In the meantime, thanks for keeping us in the loop, Hacker !

I do think that these will sell well. Now for those that you see at the guns shows will not be selling to well. As I've stated those "Pythons" are bringing a price between 3-4 grand. I'm going to enjoy telling a gun show vendor that I can buy new for way less than they're selling. I see these guys lowering their prices as it is a no brainier to buy new at a cheaper price.

Gary, the prices will probably drop, but how much will depend on how the new ones are perceived by the buying public. Will there be some snob appeal to the older Pythons ? Not sure how that will all work out. It was fun to watch the prices on the old 358 439 molds drop like a lead ingot after Lyman reintroduced them !

I think you guys are right-on about old ~vs~ new Python prices at gun shows and how "good" the new ones are perceived to be. I get some odd reactions from some folks when I tell the story of selling an M1 Carbine for $120 and making $60 in the deal (that was in the early 1960's) . . . We need to change the subject . . . the tears are making it difficult to type.
