February 29,2020 was the last day of our small game season. The son-in-law and I got out the last two days with the last day being in the morning. We sat for squirrel and it was cold and on the breezy side. I had my Savage in 22 WMR and he had is new Marlin model 60 in 22lr. Now he had this about a couple weeks and has been hunting with it since now we are allowed to use semi 22s for small game. We put a scope on it and did a rough sight in at 25yds. Well the last day in the morn I saw three with no opportunity for a shot. He saw two and connected on the one. He was happy that he finally got one with the new gun. Now before this at the beginning of the month on the 6th I put an order in with my LGS for a new squirrel gun that I wanted to use in the final week. Nope did not get the gun until the Monday after Mar. 2nd. More later on the new addition.

Gary, to bad you did not connect with either a squirrel nor your new gun. You folks sure have some strange season openers and closers. With the exception of dove and some special hunts ours open on Saturdays and close on Sundays with days or weeks in between. Let's hear about the new shooter!

Gary ~ Is it true that leap year squirrel tastes different than regular squirrel? Congratulations on the new gun; we are all waiting to hear about it.

Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Hacker, it's not a bad idea to let 'em grow another year ! I'm looking forward to the report on the new iron. Bob's right-PA does seem to have an odd assortment of seasons, but PA has a really good reputation up our way. I remember driving one night toward my sister's place outside of Philly, and seeing the eyes of what seemed like thousands of deer on the side of the road, seemingly waiting to pounce ! Waiting for the mud to subside a bit before trying the road into the range-we're getting spring like weather, but this is New Hamster, and whatever the weather guys say, we'll get hit at least once more.
