Give me a place to stand and a long-enough lever, and I will invariably break the lever.

Hacker, I'm trying to remember if any of our gang bought one in the first round. I got stuff from DCM/CMP over the years, but back then the pricing made buying a pig in a poke an interesting gamble. Back then, they didn't have to sell at market level. All for a good cause, and I hope it works out for all ! It's sort of fun to keep track, especially watching some of the conversations on various forums, where the sale is seen by some as the second coming and others as a yard sale. If you watch the CMP site at all, watch the auctions. I'll be interested to see what shows up there.

Thanks for the information Hacker and for your comments as well Pooh. A couple of years ago I have had a go at one but now no. I have 2 and I paid less foe each than CMP's price though I think their revenue goes towards a good cause.

Poo ~ Check back in the “General Board”. On 14-JAN-2019 under the Title “CMP 1911” started by me and last commented on 17-JAN-2019 by Bob. That’s when I let all of you know that I got a WWII 1911 through CMP. It shoots nice and is very good condition. I have had opportunities to sell it every time I take it to the range and I’m sure I could “at least” get my money back if I did. I am still in hopes that the rumors about M1 30 Carbines from Korea coming back are true. I would try for one of those too. ~ SnapShot
